Martin A. Anderson Jr., the son of Martin and Hilma Anderson, was born on February 28, 1891, in New York City. By 1900, he had moved to Schenectady. Before joining the military, he worked for the General Electric Company.
In March 1918, Martin enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Private and served with Battery C, 78th Field Artillery. On October 5, 1918, Martin passed away from wounds sustained during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He is buried in Vale Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
