World War I (1914-1918)

Raymond Lord Boone was born in Preston Hollow, New York, on April 9, 1895. By 1900, he was living in the town of Duanesburg in Schenectady County.

On June 27, 1917, Raymond enlisted in the United States Army. He was a private first class serving with the Machine Gun Company, 105th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division. On May 17, 1918, he was sent overseas aboard the U.S. Army troopship USS President Grant. On October 20, 1918, Raymond died from wounds recieved during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
