Edward "Archie" Archibald Campbell, the son of Frank and Anna (Stevens) Campbell, was born on March 29, 1896, in West Bloomfield, Ontario, New York. By 1905, Edward was residing in Schenectady County with his family. Before joining the military, he worked as a machinist for the General Electric Company.
Edward enlisted in the United States Army Air Forces and held the rank of Private. He served with the 23rd Squadron Aviation Section, Sig, C. On January 13, 1918, while stationed at Camp MacArthur in Waco, Texas, he died of pneumonia. He is buried in Park Cemetery, Scotia, New York.
