World War I (1914-1918)

Peter (Pietro) Della-Rocca was born in Schenectady, New York, on May 18, 1894. He grew up in the city of Schenectady, graduated from Schenectady High School, and attended the University of Syracuse.
 

On March 9, 1918, Peter enlisted in the United States Army. He was stationed in Charlotte, North Carolina, before being sent overseas on the U.S. Army troopship SS Rhesus on May 7, 1918. He was a private serving with Company E, 58th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division. On July 18, 1918, Peter was killed in battle in France. He is buried in the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery and Memorial in France.
