George Frick, the son of Frederick and Caroline (Horstman) Frick, was born on April 11, 1891, in Schenectady, New York. Before enlisting, he worked for the American Locomotive Company.

On October 6, 1917, George enlisted in the United States Army and began his training at Camp Devens in Massachusetts. He held the rank of Private and served with the Machine Gun Company, 109th Infantry Regiment. On October 1, 1918, during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, George was killed in battle. He is buried in Vale Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
