Thomas Patrick Gallagher was born in Niskayuna, New York, on December 6, 1889. He was working as a bookkeeper in 1910 at a brewery in Schenectady County. Before entering the military, he was living in New Jersey.
Thomas enlisted in the United States Army. He was a corporal serving with the 311th Infantry Regiment, 78th Infantry Division. On October 26, 1918, Robert was killed in battle during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He is buried in the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial in France.
