Stanley Alexander Hansett, the son of Hiram and Alberta (Brown) Hansett, was born on June 20, 1899, in Schenectady, New York. He was employed by the American Locomotive Company before entering the service.
On January 11, 1917, Stanley enlisted in the United States Navy. He held the rank of Apprentice Seaman. When Stanley became ill while serving on the USS North Dakota, he was transported to the USS Solace, where he died on February 4, 1918. He is buried in Park View Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
