Wavel Alden Hart, the son of Louis and Hattie Hart, was born on October 2, 1899, in Schenectady, New York. Before joining the army, he worked at the United Cigar Company Shop on Jay Street.
On March 16, 1916, Wavel enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Private and served with Company E, 105th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division. On October 17, 1918, Wavel was killed in battle during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He is buried in Vale Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
