Harold Albert Hazlett was born in Stoneham, Massachusetts, on December 8, 1889. By 1910, he was living in Schenectady County with his family. He attended the Methodist Academy in Poultney, Vermont, where he sang bass in the First Methodist Church choir and participated in many shows over the years. Harry then moved to New York City to study voice before enlisting in the military.
On May 21, 1917, Harry enlisted in the United States Army. He completed his basic training at Camp Wadsworth in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was a Corporal serving with the 107th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division. On September 29, 1918, Harry was killed in battle in France. He is buried in the Somme American Cemetery and Memorial in France.
