World War I (1914-1918)

William Lester Lasher was born in Cossayuna, New York, on July 24, 1894. By 1900, he was living in Schenectady County. Before enlisting in the military, he worked as a painter for R.W. Safford.

On May 17, 1918, William enlisted in the United States Army. He was a Private assigned to the Ship Repair Shop Unit 301. On September 27, 1918, William died of pneumonia in New Jersey. He is buried in the Fisher Cemetery, Rotterdam, New York.
