Wallace Dayton Armer was born in Schenectady, New York, on May 26, 1925. He grew up in the Village of Scotia, Schenectady County, New York. After graduating from Scotia Glenville High School, he began working for his family's hardware store, Wallace Armor.
On July 19, 1943, Wallace enlisted in the Untied States Army. He underwent military training at Fort Benning, Georgia; Camp Polk, Texas; and Camp Breckinridge, Kentucky. On December 24, 1944, Wallace was killed in the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium. At the time of his death he was a sergeant. He is buried in Park View Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
