Fulford James Aussiker was born in Schenectady, New York, on April 7, 1923. He grew up on Albany Street in Schenectady County. After graduating from Nott Terrace High School in 1942, he started working for General Electric.
On January 9, 1943, Fulford enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He was a staff sergeant serving with the 341st Bomb Squadron, 97th Bombardment Group. Fulford was wounded while flying over Austria and died in a hospital on November 25, 1944. He is buried in Vale Cemetery in Schenectady, New York.
