Horace Donald Bradt, the son of David and Phoebe Bradt, was born on October 8, 1910, in Schenectady, New York. He worked for Baker's Farm.

In February 1941, Horace enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Staff Sergeant and served with Company D, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. On January 15, 1945, during the Battle of the Bulge, Horace was killed in combat. He is buried in the Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie, New York. There is a SGT Horace D. Bradt Reserve Center on Hillside Avenue in Niskayuna, New York.
