Edward M. Capullo was born in Schenectady New York, on March 27, 1918. Before joining the Army, he attended Mont Pleasant High School.
Edward enlisted in the United States Army and held the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served with the 62nd Coast Artillery before taking part in World War ll. Edward was a champion boxer at the time. In 1936, he held the title of middleweight champion for the Fort Totten Post, and in 1938, he was named the Army and Navy's middleweight champion. In addition, Edward received merits in baseball, basketball, and football. He deployed in June 1943 and saw action in England, France and Germany while serving with the 11th Infantry Regiment, 5th Infantry Division. On March 3, 1945, Edward lost his life in battle while fighting in the European Theater. He is buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, France.
