Carmen Civitello was born in Rotterdam, New York, on September 2, 1922. After graduating from Draper High School, he worked for the American Locomotive Company.
In April 1944, Carmen enlisted in the United States Army and attended Camp Blanding in Florida for his basic training. He held the rank of Private First Class and served with the 405th Infantry Regiment, 102nd Infantry Division. On January 6, 1945, Carmen was killed in battle in Germany. He is buried in Sts. Cyril and Method Cemetery, Rotterdam, New York.
