Kenneth Lyman Collins was born in Charlton, Saratoga County, New York, on May 27, 1918. He was living with his family in Schenectady after 1935. Before joining the Army, he was employed at General Electric.
On May 23, 1944, Kenneth enlisted in the United States Army and began his basic training at Fort Dix, in New Jersey. He held the rank of Sergeant and served with the 143rd Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division. On March 18, 1945, Kenneth died from wounds sustained in combat in France. He is buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, France.
