Robert Leslie "Trevor" King, the son of Harold and Rose (Knack) King, was born on November 7, 1925, in Schenectady, New York. While attending Nott Terrace High School, he competed in basketball, cross country, baseball, and bowling. Robert attended Syracuse University before joining the military.

On January 7, 1944, Robert enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Private First Class and served with the 89th Infantry Division. In France, on July 21, 1945, he died at Magny Au Vexin. Robert is buried in the Niskayuna Reformed Church Cemetery, Niskayuna, New York.
