About
Samuel Augustus Klock, the son of Charles and Marion (Brown) Klock, was born on August 23, 1917, in Oil City, Pennsylvania. Before enlisting in the military, he worked for General Electric.
Samuel enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He held the rank of Staff Sergeant and served with the 868th Bomb Squadron, 13th Bomb Command, Heavy. Samuel was a passenger on a C-47A transportation mission flight from Indonesia to Australia on November 24, 1944. Because the C-47A failed to arrive at its initial destination, it was presumed that they had crashed at sea. He is remembered at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Philippines.
