Robert Francis Mahoney, the son of Dennis and Marie (Curtin) Mahoney, was born on March 11, 1925, in Schenectady, New York. He worked for the David Mahoney Company and went to St. Columba’s School.

Robert enlisted in the United States Army in August 1943 and attended Camp Edward in Massachusetts for his basic training. He held the rank of Corporal and served with Company I, 253rd Infantry Regiment, 63rd Infantry Division. On April 16, 1945, Robert was killed in battle in Germany. He is buried in the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, New York.
