World War II (1939-1945)

Frederick George Martin Jr. was born in Schenectady, New York, on September 12, 1919. He attended Jefferson Elementary and Draper High School, both located in the town of Rotterdam in Schenectady County. By 1940, he was living in Detroit, Michigan, working for the Cooke Construction Company. 

In August 1941, Frederick enlisted in the United States Army. By 1943, he had attained the rank of Corporal. Frederick died on November 1, 1943, as a result of injuries sustained while driving in an Alaskan convoy. He is buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Schenectady, New York.
