Arthur Myers was born in the village of Scotia in Schenectady County, New York. He earned a diploma in forestry from Iowa State University in 1940 after graduating from Scotia-Glenville High School in 1936.
Arthur enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He was a tail gunner on the B-17 "Lady Boss" while serving with the 305th Bomber Squadron, 100th Bomber Group, Heavy. 'Lady Boss' failed to return after a coastal training mission on June 27, 1944, and was last located five miles off the coast of Great Yarmouth, England. Arthur is remembered at the Cambridge American Cemetery in England and the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Saratoga, New York.
