World War II (1939-1945)

Angelo James Puorto was born in Schenectady, New York, on August 20, 1913. He grew up in the city of Schenectady and worked as a welder for the American Locomotive Company before entering the military. 

On March 14, 1941, Angelo enlisted in the United States Army. He was a private first class serving with the 119th Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division. Before being sent to Germany, he had been stationed in France, Belgium, and Holland. On October 4, 1944, he was killed in battle close to Rimburg, Germany. He is buried in the Henri Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial in Belgium.
