On February 18, 1912, John Julian Rutkowski was born in Schenectady, New York. Before enlisting in the military, he worked for General Electric.
On November 9, 1943, John enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Technician Fifth Grade and served with the 261st Infantry Regiment, 65th Infantry Division. On March 18, 1945, John was killed in battle in Luxembourg. He is buried in the Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial, Luxembourg.
