Edwin Frederick Abear Jr., the son of Edwin and Elizabeth Abear, was born on July 21, 1932, in Syracuse, New York. By 1940, he had moved to Rotterdam, New York. He participated in the YMCA in his community and went to Draper High School.
Edwin enlisted in the United States Air Force and held the rank of Airmen Second Class. He was a member of the 3757th School Squadron, Arlington Aeronautical School of Flight. On May 17, 1952, Edwin was killed after he fell from a vehicle close to Tillamook, Oregon. He is buried in Willamette National Cemetery, Oregon.
