William Paul Finch, the son of Paul and Louise (Lathers) Finch, was born on May 15, 1925, in Troy, New York. When he was a small child, his parents relocated to Schenectady. He received his diplomas from St. Columba’s High School and Notre Dame University. Before being recalled for duty during the Korean War, William, a World War ll veteran, was employed by the FBI in Washington, DC.

William enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on August 8, 1943 and was called back to duty in the fall of 1950. He held the rank of Second Lieutenant and served with the Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. On March 2, 1951, William was killed in action in Korea. He is buried in the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, New York.
