Leroy Albert Lamont, the son of Jacob and Mary (Barton) Lamont, was born on June 21, 1924, in Schoharie, New York. By 1930, he moved to Schenectady. Leroy worked for the Army general depot and attended nearby schools. He served in World War ll and was honorably discharged.
In June 1949, Leroy re-enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Private First Class and served with the Medical Company, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. On September 8, 1951, Leroy was killed in battle in North Korea. He is buried in Vale Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
