John Edward Murray, the son of Leo and Marjorie ( Budroe) Murray, was born on March 31, 1932. He attended Nott Terrace High School and resided in the city of Schenectady.
John enlisted in the United States Navy and held the rank of Petty Officer Third Class. He was serving on the destroyer USS William M. Wood (DD-715). John and his brother Richard were killed in a car accident on Blue Barns Road in Burnt Hills, New York, while he was home on leave. He is buried in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Saratoga Springs, New York.
