David Rockwell Crocker Jr., the son of David and Ruth (Mallot) Crocker, was born on December 20, 1943, in Macon County, Georgia. He graduated from George Mason High School in Virginia and in 1966 the Military Academy at West Point. When David enlisted in the United States Army, his parents were residing in Schenectady.
On November 11, 1968, David started his tour of duty in Vietnam. He held the rank of Captain and served with Company A, 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. On May 17, 1969, in the Vietnamese province of Tay Ninh, David was killed by a booby trap. He is remembered in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Connecticut.
