Vietnam War (1955-1975)

Nelson Edward Fournier was born in Schenectady, New York, on June 14, 1948. Before working at Associated Service Inc., he was a student at Mont Pleasant High School.

On August 20, 1967, Nelson enlisted in the United States Army. He was a specialist fourth class serving with the 240th Aviation Company, 1st Aviation Brigade, and a member of the Bear Cat helicopter operations in South Vietnam. On May 2, 1968, Nelson was killed in action while fighting in the South Vietnamese province of Bien Hoa. He is buried in Vale Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
