Douglas Paul Hallock, son of James and Mary (Byers) Hallock, was born on March 21, 1946, in Pennsylvania. By 1950, he had moved to Schenectady. After graduating from Linton High School in 1964, where he participated in varsity tennis and football, he continued his education at Cobleskill College and began working at General Electric.
On October 20, 1965, Douglas enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He held the rank of Corporal and served with Company M, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division. On April 30, 1967, Douglas was killed while taking part in the capture of Hill 881 in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam. Douglas is buried in Memory Gardens Cemetery and Memorial Park, Colonie, New York.
