World War I (1914-1918)

Paul Girard was born in Quebec, Canada, on July 22, 1895. It is unknown why he was living in Schenectady. On June 12, 1917, he enlisted in the United States Army. On May 17, 1918, he was sent overseas aboard the U.S. Army troopship USS President Grant. He was a private serving with the 105th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division. On October 19, 1918, Paul was killed in battle during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He is buried in the Somme American Cemetery and Memorial in France.
