Arthur Edward Granneman was born in Schenectady, New York on April 6, 1888. By 1917, he was residing in Rochester, New York, and working as a production engineer for the Delong Engine Company. Arthur was regarded as a very skilled electrical engineer.
On March 23, 1917, Arthur enlisted in the United States Army. He was trained in Fort Meyers, Virginia, and shipped overseas two months later. Arthur was a Private First Class in Company A of the 37th Engineers, 1st Battalion. Arthur died on July 16, 1918, from wounds sustained during a battle in France. He is buried in the St. Mihiel American Cemetery and Memorial, France.
