World War II (1939-1945)

Ernest Lester Nolan was born in Jamestown, New York, on July 8, 1916. He grew up in Jamestown and attended the public schools there. After 1940, he was living in the city of Schenectady with his wife and worked for General Electric and the American Locomotive Company.

Ernest enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. On October 24, 1944, Ernest went missing in action in the South Pacific. He is remembered at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial in the Philippines.
