Albert Desimone, the son of Francesco and Luisa (Bizzarro) Desimone, was born on May 26, 1924, in Schenectady, New York. After completing his high school education at Mont Pleasant, he began working at the Army Service Forces Depot.

On December 11, 1942, Albert enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He held the rank of Staff Sergeant and served with the 870th Bomber Squadron, 497th Bomber Group. Albert was prepared to return to Schenectady to see his family after surviving thirty missions. On the evening of June 6, 1945, he boarded the B-29-40-BW Super Fortress known as "Dauntless Dotty." However, shortly after take off, Dauntless Dotty crashed into the ocean, and Albert was never found. He is remembered at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Hawaii.
