World War I (1914-1918)

Alexander Campbell Biggerstaff was born in Schenectady, New York, on September 2, 1894. He was a well known figure in local athletic circles and played baseball with the Brandywine Avenue and Albany Street Nines. Alexander was a member of the General Electric Athletic Association.

On June 7, 1918, Alexander enlisted in the United States Navy. He was a seaman second class. On October 12, 1918, while Stationed in Pelham Bay Park, New York, he died from pneumonia. He is buried in Park View Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
