Allan W. Haverly was born in Schenectady New York, on March 6, 1919. As a Boy Scout, he was part of Troop 31. Allan attended Nott Terrace High School and graduated in 1936.
On October 15, 1940, Allan enlisted in the United States Army. He completed his basic training at Fort McClellan in Alabama. He was a first sergeant serving with Company H, 105th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division. In March 1942, he was sent overseas, and served in Hawaii until June 1944. Allan was wounded during the Battle of Saipan and died on July 9, 1944. He is buried in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, New York.
