World War II (1939-1945)

Alphonse Francis Cantore was born in Schenectady, New York, on May 11, 1917. After graduating from Mont Pleasant High School in June 1937, he was employed at the Mohican Market on Jay Street in Schenectady. 

On April 16, 1942, Alphonse enlisted in the United States Army. He was a private serving with Company A, 753rd Tank Battalion. On February 11, 1945, Alphonse was killed in Combat in France. He is buried in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
