Andrew Thomas Loya, the son of Daniel and Bella (Gordon) Loya, was born on May 18, 1919, in Shoreham, Vermont. Andrew and his wife and three children relocated to Delanson, Schenectady County, New York, after 1940. Prior to his enlistment, he worked on a farm.
On May 20, 1944, Andrew enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Private and served with the 22nd Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division. On November 28, 1944, Andrew was killed in combat in Germany. He is buried in the Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial, Luxembourg.
