Angelo F. Cicciu, the son of Pasquale and Anna Cicciu, was born in Schenectady, New York. He participated in the Society of Music, the track team, the fencing and archery clubs, the National Honor Society, and graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1940. In June 1942, Angelo graduated from the Bentley School of Accounting in Boston. Before joining the military, Angelo worked as a cost accountant for the General Electric Company.

On October 17, 1942, Angelo enlisted in the United States Army and received his basic training at Camp Butner in North Carolina. He held the rank of Technician Fourth Grade and served with Headquarters Company, First Army. On December 18, 1944, Angelo was killed in battle in Belgium. He is buried in the Henri Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial, Belgium.
