Antimo Malerba was born in Carpuano, Italy, on May 21, 1892. On May 3, 1910, he arrived in the United States aboard the Hamburg, with a final destination of Schenectady. Antimo had moved to Herkimer County by the time he filled out his World War I draft card. According to the Schenectady Gazette, he was living in Herimer County and working in Schenectady County. He worked for the state of New York.
On March 13, 1918, Antimo enlisted in the United States Army and began serving at Camp Devens in Massachusetts. He was assigned to Company G, 319th Infantry Regiment, and held the rank of Private. On November 24, 1918, in France, Antimo died of wounds. It is unknown where he is buried.
