Arthur Edgar Way, the son of Joseph and Emma Way, was born on October 21, 1897 in Niskayuna, Schenectady County, New York.

On October 15, 1917, Arthur enlisted in the United States Army. On May 17, 1918, he was deployed overseas aboard the USS President Grant. He was a Private First Class with the Headquarters Company, 105th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division. On October 16, 1918, Arthur was killed in battle during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He is remembered at the Niskayuna Reformed Church Cemetery, Niskayuna, New York.
