August Weloth, the son of Frank and Agatha Weloth, was born on May 5, 1923, in Germany. August arrived in America on January 25, 1926, aboard the ship Stuttgart. He worked as a machinist before enlisting in the Army.
On February 13, 1943, August enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Private First Class and served with the 133rd Infantry Regiment, 34th Infantry Division. On February 15, 1944, August was killed in battle in Italy. He is buried in the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial, Italy.
