Byron Meggs Chamberlain, the son of Bronson and Amelia (Babbitt) Chamberlain, was born on March 24, 1893, in Schenectady, New York. On July 14, 1913, Bryon enlisted in the United States Army. He took part in the Mexican Expedition from 1914 to 1916 before being assigned to Company E, 105th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division to fight in World War I on July 15, 1917. Bryon held the rank of Corporal. Byron was wounded at the Battle of Souplet in France in October 1918 and was taken to Alexandria Hospital in England, where he died on November 11, 1918. He is buried in the Mount Albion Cemetery, Albion, New York.
