World War II (1939-1945)

Carl Edward Merritt was born in Hudson, New York, on December 15, 1908. By 1925, he was living in the city of Schenectady.

On August 15, 1926, Carl enlisted in the United States Navy. He was a chief quartermaster. Carl was killed by a train in Fairfield, Connecticut, on June 9, 1943. He is buried in Vale Cemetery in Schenectady, New York.
