Cesare Mancini was born in Italy on April 29, 1893. On November 7, 1913, he arrived in the United States and settled in the city of Schenectady.
On June 6, 1917, Cesare enlisted in the United States Army. On May 17, 1918, he was sent overseas aboard the U.S. Army troopship USS President Grant. He was a private first class serving in the Machine Gun Company, 105th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division. On September 29, 1918, he was killed in combat during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
