Charles Kenneth Relihan, the son of Mathew and Mae (Sullivan) Relihan, was born on January 30, 1915, in Schenectady, New York. Charles started his Army career as a bugle boy when he was 15.
On August 23, 1940, Charles enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Sergeant and served with Company A, 31st Infantry Regiment. During the Battle of Bataan, Charles was taken prisoner of war and died on November 3, 1942. He is remembered at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, Saratoga, New York.
