Charles Kriunas, the son of George and Anna Kriunas, was born on August 7, 1918, in Schenectady, New York. He attended Nott Terrace High School and worked for General Electric before joining the military.

Charles enlisted in the United States Army on February 4, 1944, and attended Camp Wheeler in Georgia for his basic training. He held the rank of Private and served with Company A, 44th Armored Battalion, 6th Armored Division. On October 9, 1944, Charles was killed in combat in France. He is buried in the Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie, New York.
