Charles Richard Hudson was born in Saratoga Springs, New York, on September 3, 1898. He was living in the city of Schenectady by 1915 and was working for General Electric before entering the service.
On February 12, 1916, Charles enlisted in the United States Navy. He was a quartermaster first class serving on the USS Ticonderoga. Charles was lost at sea when the USS Ticonderoga was torpedoed by a German submarine on September 30, 1918. He is remembered at the Suresnes American Cemetery and Memorial in France.
