David Arthur Butler was born in New York City, New York, on December 20, 1924. By 1930, he was living in Schenectady, New York.
On August 6, 1943, David enlisted in the United States Army. He was a private serving with Company A, 102nd Tank Destroyer Battalion, 2nd Armored Division. On August 23, 1944, David was killed in battle. He is buried at the Dunston Cemetery, Maine.
