Edward Anthony Malewicz, the son of Edward and Ethel Malewicz, was born on November 18, 1942, in Niskayuna, New York. He graduated from Scotia Glenville High School in 1961 and worked for the Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation.

In October 1964, Edward enlisted in the United States Army and received his paratrooper training at Fort Benning, Georgia. He held the rank of Private First Class and served with Company B, 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division. On October 11, 1965, Edward was killed by sniper fire in the South Vietnamese province of Thua Thien. He is buried in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
